Adults

People often express curiosity about what other clients come to talk about. Some of the most common concerns include:

  • Anxiety

  • Stress

  • Low mood

  • Processing previous hurtful experiences e.g. breakups, distressing childhood experiences etc.

  • Relationship problems with partners and/or children

  • Emotion regulation i.e. feeling like their emotional reactions are disproportionate to the event or feeling like their emotions are out of their control

  • Inability to break out of a pattern of behaviour despite being motivated to do so

  • Fulfilment and life direction

However I see people for a wide range of other concerns as well, including but not limited to mental illness, trauma (particularly domestic violence and sexual assault) and just a general sense that life is not what is should be.

I have a special interest in perinatal wellbeing, including supporting women to process traumatic birth experiences. I continue to do a small amount of work with clients in Australia and I reserve these places exclusively for women in the perinatal period.

While there is a broad range of concerns that I do work with, there are many areas that I will also refer on to another therapist. For example, drug and alcohol abuse, personality disorders, eating disorders, some perpetrating behaviours, and emerging or present psychosis are examples of areas I often refer to specialist services.
